Abstract
Creating synergy between universities and industry is a complex process that requires continuous efforts, changes in policies and attitudes, and the establishment of appropriate infrastructures. By identifying challenges and leveraging opportunities, such collaborations can be elevated to a higher level, playing a significant role in the scientific and economic development of the country. The fundamental prerequisite for achieving such synergy is the continuous and effective communication between industry and academia. Examining and analyzing the impact of such interactions in developed countries reveals the decisive role of these connections. It indicates that without attention to and the existence of such interactions, humans, as the central element of development, will be incapable of playing their optimal role in societal development and reducing the performance gap between developing and developed countries. Therefore, this research was conducted to identify the challenges, opportunities, and future perspectives in creating synergy between academia and industry. The methodology employed in this study is descriptive, based on a library-based review method and examination of research backgrounds. Ultimately, the barriers and issues in the relationship between industry and academia were examined and analyzed, and suggestions were provided to overcome communication barriers and enhance interactions between these two institutions.
