Abstract
The importance and sensitivity of the issue of teacher's well-being is not hidden from anyone. However, little is known about the impact of workplace conditions on the well-being of English language teachers. The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of the conditions and resources of the work environment on the well-being of these teachers. Among the statistical population of English language teachers in Mazandaran province, 354 people were selected through snowball sampling and answered the working conditions questionnaire (Wood & Ogbonnaya, 2018). Data were analyzed using correlation and multiple regression tests. The results showed that increasing job security, autonomy and teachers' participation in decision-making improves their well-being. Also, the conflict between teachers' personal and work lives has a destructive effect on teachers' well-being. In addition, the findings showed that appropriate family policies, supportive leadership of principals, and teachers' participation in decisions can reduce the adverse effects of work-life conflict and work pressure on teachers' well-being. The results indicate that the existence of professional development programs with emphasis on communication skills and more opportunities to participate in decision-making, supportive leadership, more job security and less work pressure can be practical solutions to enhance the well-being of English teachers.
