Characteristics of Effective Leadership in Efficient Schools: Examining the Views of Senior Secondary School Teachers in Guilan Province

Abstract
The quality of successful leadership and increasing the efficiency of schools is one of the concerns of the education system in all countries, including Iran. The purpose of this correlational survey study is to investigate the possible relationship between the characteristics of efficient schools and the characteristics of effective management from the teachers' point of view. The statistical population of the research included secondary school teachers of Gilan province. Among them, 560 individuals were selected through random cluster sampling. Research data were collected through questionnaires of effective management characteristics and efficient school characteristics. Correlation and linear regression tests were used to analyze the data. The research findings showed that there is a significant and positive correlation between effective leadership characteristics and efficient school characteristics. Linear regression analysis also showed a significant relationship between the two mentioned variables. Also, it was found that there is a significant relationship between patience and tolerance and reducing learning barriers. In addition, there is an effective relationship between the ability to communicate, emotions, resources and also, basic skills. The results showed that in efficient schools, there is a significant relationship between communication, emotions, future horizon, and monitoring the progress of students.
