Abstract
With the rapid advancement of modern technologies, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative component in educational management. This mixed-methods study aimed to analyze the opportunities and challenges of applying AI in Iran’s educational management system. In the quantitative phase, data were collected from 150 secondary school principals using a researcher-made questionnaire covering three dimensions: opportunities, challenges, and administrators’ attitudes. The instrument showed high reliability with a Cronbach’s alpha of 0.89. In the qualitative phase, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 15 educational administrators. Findings revealed that school leaders hold a generally positive attitude toward AI, recognizing its potential to enhance decision-making, streamline administrative processes, and improve educational supervision. Nevertheless, barriers such as lack of infrastructure, cultural resistance, and insufficient staff training were identified as major challenges to implementation. The study provides valuable insights for policymakers and educational leaders aiming to foster smart educational management and integrate AI-based solutions into Iran’s educational system.
